North of Venice in Viale Vittoria one of Italy’s finest beer brands brews up smooth and quaff worthy craft beers. Birra Couture (“Couture Beer”) has built their brewing tradition on classic style and natural ingredients. Couture’s commitment to quality has led to their growing their own barley in the northern fields of Italy, between the Livenza and Tagliamento rivers, producing a one-of-a-kind malt. In their fully-automated brewing line, they produce nearly 4000 litres per day of excellent beer. Built to capture 100% of their power needs from solar, Couture combines class, style and sustainability. Amber Ales are a well-known staple of the beer world, sporting smooth body and rich malty flavour. The Vogue Vienna is a hallmark version of the style — pleasant aroma, smooth body, subtle and evocative flavour, and a mellow ABV. Serves well between 5-10°C (depending on your taste) and can cellar for half a year.

How it looks

The Vogue pours with ultimate aggression — the most foamy beer we’ve ever encountered, you have been warned. The body is a tawny amber colour, clear and medium carbonation.

How it smells

A combination of sweet, toasted biscuit malt and a sharp booziness stands at the forefront of this beer’s scent profile. A touch of rich, stone fruit comes across, the skin and flesh together. Deep in the background is a flowery note of hops.

How it tastes

This beer has a wonderful subtle taste that opens up as you let it soak into your palate. Initially a buttery, slightly spicy malt flavour opens the taste up. It slowly evolves into a toasted bread flavour with just the smallest calling of the hop. It finishes with a bitter, floral edge and a smooth mouth feel. The Vogue deserves a few relaxed sips before any definition can truly be nailed down about it.
