Frequently asked questions

How do I sign up for Canada Craft Club shipments?

Visit Join The Club page, choose a subscription or a gift and enter in your billing, shipping and credit card information. Your first package will be shipped in the middle of the month, in the month following your initial purchase date.

Do I need to sign up for a contract? are there membership fees?

Nope. Contracts are for cell phone companies! There are no contracts to sign, no startup fees, and no cancellation fees. Your monthly membership will automatically renew each month (gift orders are paid for in full, in advance and will not renew). You can cancel at any time with no obligations. All suspensions or cancellations on or after the 20th of the month, will result in one final shipment the following month.

How are you different than any other beer of the month club?

There are a few key differences between Canada Craft Club and traditional beer clubs; Canada Craft Club has no initiation fees, no membership fees and no contracts to sign. You don’t need to sign up for a specified amount of time and you can order as little as one package (two bottles starting at around $40).

We ship monthly, meaning minimal waiting for your package or gift to arrive. Once you order, your first delivery will occur in the middle of the following month.

Due to Canada Craft Club’s location in Alberta, we can offer our members a selection of hard to find and exclusive beers that are not found across the country. Additionally, you are getting the in-depth experience package with tasting notes, and base shipping fees that are all included in the price! Finally, there is the advantage of Canada Craft Club’s social network where you can compare notes and reviews through our social media channels, and track your previous beer experiences in your online account. Members receive access to preferred pricing in the online store, where you can shop for your favourites.

What happens if I get a bad or off bottle?

Oh no! That’s no fun. We’re sorry. Bad bottles are an unfortunate reality of the beer world and they do occur. If you do get a bad or off bottle as part of your package, let us know within 30 days of delivery and we will ensure that a credit is applied directly to your account in the retail amount of the beer.

Why can’t I pick the type of beer contained in the packages?

The idea of joining Canada Craft Club is to expand your horizons and try new breweries and styles. Have you ever had a Bohemian Pilsner? Or an Italian Flemish Sour Ale? Why not? We know that everyone has a certain preference for beer, either in country, style or mouthfeel, but we take great pride in our selection process. We are confident that you will enjoy the beers selected.

The Canada Craft Club experience is focussed around expanding your palate and allowing you to try beers that you couldn’t pick up in your local liquor store!

We also love promoting and sharing, new and established breweries from across Canada. Look out for beers from Victoria to Halifax! If you live near a brewery that we feature, don’t be bummed that you have tried it before. We think that it is cool that with your help and membership, you are giving them national exposure!

Can I upgrade or downgrade my monthly package?

Absolutely! If you have subscribed to a specific package, and wish to graduate to a higher package or step down a level, you can do so through your online account or contact us! Just be sure to change your package type before the 20th of the month, in order to receive a different package type for the next month’s shipment.

Does Canada Craft Club offer a guarantee?

We are committed to your satisfaction, so committed in fact, that we guarantee our packages 100%. If you are not completely satisfied with the quality of the beers you receive, please contact us at hello@canadacraftclub.ca within 30 days of receiving your shipment to make arrangements to ship the damaged or flawed, at least ¾ full bottle of beer back to us.

CAN I GET A CANADA CRAFT CLUB PACKAGE SHIPPED TO ME?

You must be over the age of majority in your province in order to subscribe, and by law, there always needs to be someone over the legal age of majority to receive and sign for your shipments (couriers will ID if you appear under 25). If you live outside of Alberta, in a rural area, or at a PO Box address, your wine will by default, be shipped via Canada Post. We will ship all packages in Alberta with Fedex (except rural and PO Box), unless otherwise requested.

The rules and regulations in Canada and constantly changing and ultimately the responsibility lies with the consumer to make sure they are legally allowed to import our products in their jurisdiction. If you reside in a province where importing alcohol from other provinces is restricted, you will not be able to order from Canada Craft Club.

CAN I PICK-UP MY PACKAGE?

Yes, if you live in Calgary, or frequent the city. We are proud to be able to offer our members in Calgary an alternative option to shipping your beer package. Similar to our deliveries by courier, you will be notified by email when your monthly package is available to pick-up at our store Highfield by WineCollective, located at 22, 1259 Highfield Cres. SE. If you are an existing Canada Craft Club member and would like to pick-up your package, please get in touch with us and we will make the change for you!

Members receive special savings at Highfield by WineCollective. Make sure you register at the checkout to ensure your receive your member pricing.

WHEN CAN I EXPECT MY BEER?

Canada Craft Club members can expect their packages will be delivered around the 3rd week of each month, as long as a purchase was made in the preceding month. So remember, if you’d like a package of beer, or want a gift to be delivered next month, be sure to sign up this month. For example, if you purchase in September, your first package will be delivered in the middle of October. We will take the liberty of delaying delivery during extreme weather conditions, during this time we ask for your patience.

HOW DOES DELIVERY WORK?

A huge part of the Canada Craft Club advantage is the delivery of beer to your home or office. When your package is shipped out, around mid-month, you will receive an email with your tracking information link. By law, someone over the age of majority in your province must sign for the delivery. Couriers are legally not allowed to leave this package on your doorstep, for this reason, we strongly suggest getting your package delivered to your daytime address.

Additionally, we send you a reminder email on the 1st of each month, as a ‘heads up’ letting you know when to expect your delivery. If you have any questions, or need to delay your delivery or change couriers, you can let us know before the ‘cut-off date’ for changes.

How am I billed?

Your recurring subscription cost will be processed every month on the 20th, for the following month's beer. This allows us to see total numbers, then order in and package up your fresh and delicious beer.

I’M CONCERNED ABOUT GIVING MY CREDIT CARD AND PERSONAL INFORMATION.

Canada Craft Club has very high privacy standards. We will never sell your information, ever. Read more in our Privacy Policy. CanadaCraftClub.ca’s purchase system is secured with SSL encryption, look for the lock icon in your browser during checkout. We cannot access your secured credit card information on file.

HOW DO I SUSPEND/CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP?

If you are going to be out of town for a few weeks or months and would like to suspend your account, please login to your account profile on CanadaCraftClub.ca, click on the My Account link and select the “Suspend/Cancel” option. You can suspend your shipments for up to 4 months and your membership will automatically start-up again after your suspension ends.

Cancellation of your subscription can be done in the same way via your profile, by logging in and clicking on the My Account link, then choosing the “Suspend/Cancel” link. Follow the prompts and your membership will be canceled. You will receive an email confirming the cancellation of your subscription.

If you suspend or cancel on or after the 20th of the month, you have already been charged for your next month’s shipment, so you will still receive that final package from us. You will be notified of this during the process of cancelling or suspending, and in the confirmation email.

ARE THERE PENALTIES OR FEES IF I WANT TO CANCEL?

No penalties, no fees, no hassles.

We will of course be sad to see you go and might ask you why you are cancelling, but we want our members to leave Canada Craft Club and look fondly back on the experience. And many members take a break and then rejoin in the future! Please keep in mind that if you cancel on or after the 20th of the month, you have already been charged for your next month’s shipment, so you will still receive that final package from us.

DOES THE PRICE OF THE PACKAGE INCLUDE SHIPPING?

Yes! The base shipping cost is included in the package price, however additional shipping surcharges may apply to certain areas and rural locations. These surcharges are based on your postal code and if applicable, will be displayed at Checkout, before you have finalized your order.

CAN I CANCEL MY ORDER?

Once you have selected and paid for beer from the Canada Craft Club store, orders cannot be cancelled or refunded. All sales are final. Cancelling your subscription after your initial purchase will not cancel the first, and upcoming delivery. A cancellation after your initial payment will result in future charges and deliveries being cancelled, after the first shipment.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY BEER ARRIVES DAMAGED?

Our custom built polystyrene packing rarely allows for a broken bottle. However, now and then due to shipping or weather, bottles do arrive damaged. Should your shipment arrive in pieces, please email the beer’s details and a photo of the broken bottle to us. Within 30 days of receiving your shipment, we will happily work out a solution with you.

I DISLIKE THIS MONTH’S BEER, WHAT CAN I DO?

We choose beers that are both unique and interesting. While these beers have all been expertly chosen, because each beer lover’s palate is different, you may receive a beer you did not like. In that case, we ask that you keep an open mind, welcome new styles and expand your palate!

If your bottle has been tainted and the beer’s taste and aroma altered, contact us within 30 days of receiving your shipment and we will be more than happy to credit you the retail value of the bottle.
