Brewing from the core of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Surly has been on the scene since 2010, making beer and showing up to the best music festivals. Their attitude is all about a full-throttle way of getting it done and getting up off the mat when it doesn’t work. Surly has made a point of reaching into their community to provide support and beer when the people of Minneapolis are having fun, and now their beer is making its way up into the north for your own good times. Hell follows the classic European style with a soft body and lightly spicy flavours. The lack of filtering leaves some of the gritty depth in the body and enhances the floral hops. Serves well at 8°C and can cellar for six months.
Look
Pours a pale yellow colour with a clear body and medium carbonation. A frizzy head of small bubbles rests on top of the glass.
Smell
Pretty tame nose but you’ll pick up the Pilsner malt with all its bready glory and touch of sweetness.
Taste
Laid back flavour but you will get the classic Helles on your palate. Bready malt that holds up a slightly sweet and spicy profile. The hops are detectable as a touch of leafy green, but they stay in the background. There’s a slightly salty minerality that perks up your taste buds and lingers for a while afterward. Finishes off with a smooth mouthfeel and bready aftertaste.

Perfect for the charcuterie board, heavy on the sausage.
