Introduction

Professional golfer, Graham DeLaet, has found success in the world of sport depends on hard work and dedication, and wants those values to inspire a beer. That’s why he partnered up with Bomber Brewing Company to produce the Prairie Baard Golden Ale - a beer for those who pack a lunch and spend their work day in the trenches. Bomber Brewing is a workhorse company, producing contract beers with small brewers and craft developers who need a partnership to produce the needed levels of beer for a brilliant new idea. Together Bomber Brewing and DeLaet are bringing a light, tasty golden ale to thirsty beer lovers across the nation. The Prairie Baard is a blonde-style ale with semi-sweet and biscuity tones, a touch of yeast character, and some gentle hop character - all right in line with the style. It serves well at 6°C and can cellar for up to half a year.

How it looks

Pours a pale straw colour with a clear body and light carbonation. Almost no head out of the can which quickly runs away leaving only a few bubbles.

How it smells

Floral hops that are quite strong, dry and freshly cut green apples, toffee, piney elements, and some citrus zest around the edges. A bit like sweet grape juice on first sniff.

How it tastes

Bright and fresh tasting - slightly toasted grain and zesty citrus at the start, the sweet fruit juice flavour darts onto your palate but it’s all quickly joined and balanced by the pine hops that cut down on any sweetness and shorten the whole taste experience. Mouthfeel on this beer is very dry and astringent, which makes the entire tasting process blast over your palate quickly, so pay close attention to all the details.

Recommended food pairing

Something tasty but delicate would match with the speedy flavour of this beer. Seafood crepes or a shrimp risotto
