Introduction

Specializing in barrel-aged and experimental ales, this brewery takes it’s unique moniker from founder Patrick Rue’s family surname. Known for their over-the-top sours, The Bruery makes extra-strong, extra-sour, and often extra-rare Belgian-inspired beers. This Jardinier is a different beer from what we have grown to expect from The Bruery; this is a brew crafted to indulge in on an every day basis. Inspired by a trip to Belgium by Rue and others on the team, the Jardinier – French for gardener – ranks more as a table beer and is one that we feel certain you will enjoy.

How it looks

Pours a hazy gold with a fluffy white head and excellent lacing.

How it smells

Aroma is light, fruity Belgian yeast with lovely lemon and some apple, apricot, straw and spice coming through.

How it tastes

This beer tastes of big lemon zest, citrus, apple and spice rounding out with some banana and clove, honey and earthiness coming through from the yeast. The hops provide some grassy, lemony flavours on the finish of this medium-bodied beer. Jardinier is a dry brew with lovely effervescence that begs you to drink more and at less than 5% ABV, you can do just that rather comfortably.

Recommended food pairing

This light and refreshing beer pairs beautifully with bruschetta. The yeasty fruit flavours and spice in this beer do an excellent job of picking up the sweetness in the tomatoes and onions and balances out the addition of some nutty cheese on top. You can also go the dessert route and pair this Belgian pale ale with a citrus ice cream.
