Profile
Smell
The tea infusion lends a bright, fruity aroma to this beer that’s tough to tease out individual aromas. The warm, caramel malt underneath supports it all really well.
Taste
The infusion of tea elements is strong up front, delivering a sweet, fruity flavour. But it’s quickly overshadowed by the sour elements. The yeast kicks your palate awake, but then washes over it with tart, crabapple-like flavour and a leafy bitterness from the hops. All of that will take you to the finish line, with a slight dry mouthfeel and a chalky blandness at the very end.
Pairing
Get into some grilled meat to help balance out the flavours. Did someone say Ribeye?
Sight
Pours a dark golden colour with a mostly clear body and low carbonation. A bubbly head of foam melts to a thin layer after the pour.

Description
XhAle Brewing is a community project started in Calgary, Alberta, and committed to building their brand around the expectations of sustainable brewing, community outreach and participation, and inclusion. Started in the early days of 2020, XhAle has already produced a dozen beers from their craft setup, and established their craft tastes in the knock-down-drag-out world of Calgary’s beer scene. Now they’ve teamed up with Rebellion Brewing. Rebellion is one of Regina’s hidden gems in the craft scene. A little bit country and a lot of punk rock, Rebellion Brewing sports a half dozen year-round brews on their slate, and a dozen seasonals floating across the slate. The Ask For It is a sour ale made by the minds of Xhale and Rebellion collaborating to raise awareness for consent in spaces like bars and pubs. Infused with a tea of grape skins, elderberries, and currants, this is a fruity ale with a kick. Serves well at 8°C and can cellar for three months.
