Profile

Smell

A subtle aroma of tropical fruit with citrus zest paired with a fragrant, flowery hop profile that has a snappy undertone.

Taste

A smooth and pleasant flavour, combining the tropical and stone fruit into a sweet medley that has a touch of peppery spice on the backfoot. As it warms on the palate you’ll detect more of the hops, which show a slightly earthy, floral quality. Smooth-bodied, this beer finishes up with a slightly astringent drying of the mouth and an aftertaste of peaches, hops, and minerality.

Pairing

Pair this up with a diverse charcuterie board or rich Beef Dip. Some fats and some spices.

Sight

Pours a pale yellow colour with a hazy body and light carbonation. A fizzy head of bubbles forms a thin cap on the top of the beer.

Description

Chris and Lawrence spent years rebuilding their family’s legacy in farming and food service, and much of that on the back of their successful restaurant. And precisely that service path is what caused the brothers to think to themselves - “Hey, why do we keep hunting for better beer for our pub?” It was time to do it themselves. So in 2011 they got started and a year later, using hops grown on their family farm, Farmery put out the first beer: a premium Lager. The ball was rolling and after years of teaming up with other breweries and contracting out, they built their own facility in 2015. Now they’ve got 8 regular beers and a few hard lemonade thrown in for good measure. The Farmhouse Ale is a Belgian-style, hazy-bodied ale with flavours of tropical and stone fruit, spices, and grassy hops. Serves well at 8°C and can cellar for up to six months.
