Description

Inedit is made with two types of beer: traditional malted barley beer and wheat beer. This hybrid brew is lager-like with a creamy texture and shows typical Witbier aromas of coriander and citrus. It's cloudy, with a golden amber core, and is quite complex with fruit, sweet spice, and fresh yeast notes. This beer was created as a collaboration project between the Head Brewer at Damm Brewery and world-famous chef Ferran Adrià, head of the famous Catalan restaurant, El Bulli, back in 2008. The goal is to make a beer replacement for wine. Estrella Damm was founded in 1876 by August Küntzmann Damm and his cousin Joseph Damm, both Alsatians who had fled the Franco-Prussian war. They began the brewery and became known for what was known as a lighter lager that was dubbed “Mediterranean lager beer”. This beer was a lighter style than those commonly brewed in Central Europe. It was specifically designed to suit the warm climate of Spain. The brewery expanded in 1905 with a new space that was named “La Bohemia” located right in the heart of Barcelona. Estrella Damm has grown from a local favourite to being enjoyed all over the world. Even today, the brewery holds true to its roots by still using the original 1876 recipe that the cousins first created.
