Profile
Smell
Strong aromas of roasted elements – coffee and grains. Take a deeper whiff and you’ll pick up sweet caramel and floral hops.
Taste
The roasted flavours balance out well with the smooth, silky body that has sweetness and creamy flavour. The hops are barely noticeable but they do the job of helping keep everything together. You’ll also taste more of them in the aftertaste. This beer starts off slightly rough and roasted but eases into a creamy cup of coffee. It finishes up as a slow ebb away, leaving a smooth mouthfeel and lightly sweet kiss.
Pairing
A strong contender for a hearty beef stew with a sour-dough roll.
Sight
Pours black with no light coming through and low carbonation. A thin head of brown bubbles rests on top of the pour.

Description
The Brothers Stell are the two minds behind Dark Woods Brewing. Fixing up an old pickup truck put the two brothers together for many cans, and they realized it was even more fun having the beer than it was fixing the truck. It was an easy move to walk away from the blue-collar life and make beer, but the work is equally demanding if more delicious. Building from the early garage beers they built a slate with nine beers that run the gamut. Their only mission is to make something they would enjoy sitting down and quaffing, and by all indications this is a high bar to clear. The Burnt Timber is a Stout ale, perfect for curling up beside the fire after a long day trekking through the snow. Rich flavours and well-balanced, this beer is a favourite of those looking for chocolatey and roasted notes. Serves well at 8°C and can stay in the cooler for up to six months.
