Profile

Smell

A light combination of tropical fruit aromas and slightly sweet malt. The hops also deliver a touch of piney and floral aromas.

Taste

The taste follows the nose, delivering on the light tropical fruit flavours and hops. As the hops warms up on the palate, they open up to showcase more of the floral flavour and herbal quality. The tropical fruit helps to cut some of the leafy characteristics to keep everything balanced. The body is light and smooth but takes a slightly dry turn at the end.

Pairing

Jump into some Shrimp Tacos with creamy Jalapeno sauce.

Sight

Pours a light yellow colour with a hazy body and light carbonation. A frothy head out of the can quickly recedes to a thin layer of bubbles on top.

Description

Beer began flowing from the doors of the Campio Brewing Co. in 2018. Part of the Bearhill family of brewpubs (which include spots in Banff, Jasper, and Calgary), Campio produces a slate of 16 different beers that rotate throughout the year, alongside some killer pizza, in the Ice District of Edmonton. Like its counterparts, Campio was built around the idea of a blue-collar spot with some artistic flair that welcomes any thirsty patron who wanders by. Campio strives for a sense of place that makes beer lovers feel welcome, enjoy great food and music, and contributes to the community at large. The Light Rail is pale ale built on Citra and Sabro hops for delicate flavours of citrus and coconut. The body is high in carbonation and snappy in flavour, waking up the taste buds. Serves well at 8°C and should be cracked soon.
