Profile

Smell

A delicate aroma that can be tricky to pin down. There’s a lightly toasted grain and slightly sweet malt, a touch of white grapes, and mild floral hops.

Taste

A well-balanced flavour of lightly toasted grain and biscuit mixes with slightly sweet and floral hops. The whole flavour is mixed together well, meaning you won’t find any element cloying or demanding your attention. Clean and crisp with a slightly dry finish and aftertaste of flowers. Definitely a solid addition to your list of patio beers.

Pairing

A good partner for a well stocked cheese board or better yet a 5-cheese grilled cheese.

Sight

Pours a pale yellow colour with a clear body and low carbonation. A frizzy, thin head of bubbles rests on the pour.

Description

Beer began flowing from the doors of the Campio Brewing Co. in 2018. Part of the Bearhill family of brewpubs (which include spots in Banff, Jasper, and Calgary), Campio produces a slate of 16 different beers that rotate throughout the year, alongside some killer pizza, in the Ice District of Edmonton. Like its counterparts, Campio was built around the idea of a blue-collar spot with some artistic flair that welcomes any thirsty patron who wanders by. Campio strives for a sense of place that makes beer lovers feel welcome, enjoy great food and music, and contributes to the community at large. The Birrifico Pilsner is a tribute to the Italian take on the Bohemian style that has been around for a very long time. Clean, crisp, and simple beer with a touch of character. Easy to quaff down and no trouble to enjoy. Serves well at 8°C and can cellar for three to six months.
