Description

What do you get when two chemical engineers fall in love with Shelbourne, Nova Scotia? Naturally, you get a brewery that was founded in 2012 by Hendry Pedro and Emily Tipton, two engineers with a passion for craft beers.  According to local folklore, Boxing Rock is where bickering seamen were left by the captain to sort out their differences. The choice: box until only one could return to the ship, or shake hands, square up, and share a beer.  Back in 2012, Hendry and Emily quickly realized that staying in Shelbourne meant changing their careers as their choices for jobs were limited. Being engineers, they are focused on quality, consistency, and crafting products with purpose and intention. This has been a most remarkable journey: learning a new craft, being on their own craft beer journey, while still learning and growing their beer style lineup. Believe it or not, they started learning about brewing beer by using old lobster pots and fermenting in carboys in their living room. But you have to start somewhere. The duo brews a variety of styles so that they have something to offer everyone.
