Profile

Beer Tree Brew isn’t just a craft brewery... it’s three craft breweries. Originally brewing from a farm in Port Crane, New York, the Beer Tree has moved from humble beginnings creating small-batch beers on the farm to a proper 20-barrel system putting out tasty brews from Johnson City, while maintaining the other locations as tap rooms and experimentation facilities. Beer Tree is a community of beer obsessed folks living in the New York area who infuse the spirit of the region into their beers. Channeling the experiences of skiing fresh powder, sitting along the shores of the most popular shipping lanes, and living the life of the young and reckless around the rural roads of New York. Their main taproom features 24 of their current beers, running the gamut from German Pilsner to American East coast IPAs. The Fresh Wax is a New England-style IPA with saucy fruit notes and a kick of alcohol. Serves well at 8°C and should be enjoyed promptly.

Look

Pours a pale yellow colour with a hazy body and medium carbonation. A solid head of small bubbles forms on the top of the glass.

Smell

Juicy tropical fruit including pineapple and mango, and strong hop aroma that’s floral with a hint of earth and herbs.

Taste

Fairly mild considering the strong aroma. The tropical fruit is up front and tasty, you can pick out the mango and pineapple quite easily. The hops balance it out but stay conservative, delivering a light floral flavour and a touch of the more earthy and bitter stems, but not taking over the taste.

Pairing

Something with some spice but not crazy, like a cajun chicken sandwich, so the flavours aren’t lost.
