Profile
Josh and Craig began to shine their light in the Kootenays in their nano-brewery in 2014. But since a nano-brewery can only produce nano-beers, they quickly found themselves overwhelmed with a demand for their product and had to kick their lives up to the Micro gear. So they wrangled a handful of other excited beer-loving crafters and began building out a new home. By spring of 2017 their new brewery and lounge was filling up with thirsty Nelsonites and surrounding beer lovers from British Columbia. Now they make their beers teleport to your home for enjoyment and so you too can see into the depths of the craft beer world with a torch held high. The name probably gives it away. This is a New England-style IPA with a hazy body and AWESOME FLAVOUR. Juicy tropical fruits and beefy hop profile. Serves well at 8°C and should be enjoyed promptly.
Look
Pours a light yellow colour with a hazy body and medium carbonation. A BIG frothy head of foam emerges from the can and will need a stick to be beaten back.
Smell
The biggest player on the nose is going to be the juicy tropical fruit. The hops are present but they’re floral and sweet, mixing into the fruit and hiding from your sniffer.
Taste
A smooth mixture of the juicy fruit flavours, eased off from how they come across on the nose, and the floral hop profile brought about by the bold mixture of hops. The malt comes up in the flavour as it warms on the palate, bringing a slightly sweet, buttery caramel that carries the taste to the finish line. Fading off rather than a quick finish, a smooth mouthfeel and sweet fruit kiss end it all.
Pairing
A perfect can of beer for Carne Asada street tacos with a generous squirt of your favourite hot sauce.
