Description
High Key Brewing co-owners, Madeline Conn and Daniel Rommens, both left corporate jobs to return to Saskatoon to open High Key Brewing in 2018. Mutual friends introduced Madeline to Daniel after she developed her brewery business plan and was looking for a brewer. Daniel, who originally started brewing his beer at home, was keen to become part of the venture and share his own recipes in a more professional setting. Madeline, who left Saskatoon for a corporate job that had her complete some training down in Dallas, Texas, fell in love with the craft beer scene down there. She had the idea to open a brewery back home in Saskatchewan, the grain capital of Canada. It just made sense. The craft beer scene in Saskatoon was small and needed newcomers badly. In the previous space that the duo occupied, the annual production was a mere 4,000 litres. Madeline and Daniel draw inspiration from local ingredients, like the Saskatchewan cherry sour and beers made with local barley. Recently, they have taken over the space of the former Harley Davidson building which allowed them the expansion they desperately needed to grow the business further. They now have doubled their production and also introduced a bigger taproom, complete with a kitchen for an even better tasting experience.
