Description

Steve Himel and Adin Wener took their brewery’s name from Robert Henderson, who started Toronto’s first brewery at Sherbourne and Richmond in 1802. Their flagship beer, “Henderson’s Best,” is inspired by one of his original recipes. Industry veterans and big beer lovers, Steve and Adin founded Henderson in 2013. They saw a chance to create craft brews that were easy to enjoy. By January 2016, they were pouring their first pints at the Rhino in Parkdale, and just a few months later, they opened their own bottle shop and taproom. Since then, they’ve brewed hundreds of different styles and won many awards along the way. They also stand out with their monthly “Ides” beer, each inspired by a unique Toronto story or character—like Honest Ed’s or Rochdale College. On top of that, they’re big on community, hosting weekly pop-ups with local eateries, holding workshops for local artisans, and raising funds for neighbourhood charities.
