Profile
Smell
A classic aroma profile of the milk stout - smooth and sweet milk sugars, dusty dark chocolate, and rich, medium roast coffee beans. There’s also a touch of something herbal and leafy hiding around the edge.
Taste
This is a perfect milk stout, right down the centre of the plate. Slightly sweet and creamy, a touch of bitter and warming dark chocolate tones, and the earthy coffee notes all come together in a unity that is satisfying and tasty. The mouth feel is smooth and fills the palate, with an interesting twist at the end - a slightly snappy, dry finish. The coffee will fill the sinuses and stay with you for a spell. A filling beer, so stick to one or two in a sitting.
Pairing
A creamy, heavy stout like this should be enjoyed with something tasty but light. Track down a caramel-banana filo pie and savour them together.
Sight
Pours an inky black colour, with low carbonation. A thick, bubbly head of off-white foam out of the can eventually cools off to a finger of foam on top.

Description
There’s a sea of wheat and a long highway when you head to the ‘Current. Saskatchewan is a place of history and old world methods. But it’s also a place of old world superstition. The Black Bridge is a well-known landmark near the town of Swift Current, and when Clayton and Kari Stenson took their home brewing operation up a notch to full-time, they decided to name it after a place rich in stories of ghosts, history, childhood adventure, and tradition. Black Bridge Brewery has some of its own ghost stories and history, along with long nights getting brews off the line and into the hands of thirsty beer lovers. Four year-round beers and a handful of seasonal offerings populate their slate. The Milk Stout is Black Bridge Brewery’s take on the dark, smooth bodied beer. Using milk sugars gives the beer a creamy texture and slightly sweet taste. Serves well at 6°C and can cellar up to a year.
