Modern Times Beer is an eclectic group of flavour wizards - combining not only a brewery but a coffee roaster alongside it. Started in 2013 in the Point Loma neighborhood of San Diego, today they enjoy a reach that includes much of the western states (and sneaking up into Canada). With reach comes even more locations, they’ve expanded to three separate spots in Cali including a restaurant in Encinitas. More than 1500 different beers have been brewed by Modern Times in the past decade and all of them are flavour adventures designed to excite beer-drinkers of all stripes. The Fruitlands is a tart, sour, fruity, funky kind of beer. Based on the Gose style, using a wide variety of ingredients but bringing them together into a harmonized aroma and flavour. Fruitland has a big kick of tropical fruit and guava, with the tart kick to wake up your taste buds and drink it all in. Serves well at 8°C and can cellar for six months.
