Firing up the brewing machines in the mid 1990s, AleSmith came out of the gate quick like a bunny, winning awards in their third year on the brewing scene. By 2002 the operation had been taken over by well-known brewer Peter Zien and the start of the barrel aging era was kicked off. Year over year AleSmith has improved their game or grown the size of their operation to bring tasty beers to California and beyond. In 2015 the company had outgrown its original location and expanded into a 100,000 sq. ft. facility that helped bring their beers across the world. Now with 9 year-round beers on the slate and boatloads of seasonals and limited releases, AleSmith is a name you’ll come to know and enjoy. Party Tricks is an American-style IPA, leaning on crisp flavour and big hop profile. The mash up of Strata, El Dorado, and Citra hops gives this beer a hop flavour that opens up wide on the palate with floral notes. Serves well at 8°C and should be enjoyed right away.

Pours a honey colour with a cloudy body and medium carbonation. A thin cap of fluffy white foam pours from the can and rests on top.

Fresh tropical fruit leaps out of the glass with muddled flesh and berries with an edge of citrus zest. Underneath is a toasted grain malt that holds up the floor. A touch of floral hops in the background.

The malt comes out first in the taste but it's quickly overtaken by the hops that come out swinging. Floral and resinous, it immediately opens up to a wider floral flavour and freshly turned earth. The tropical fruit and citrus ride along behind keeping it from souring into bitterness. Slightly spicy and astringent in the mouth, it all crashes through pretty quickly, leaving behind a dry finish.

AleSmith recommends digging into a big plate of nachos with this beer and the spicier the better.
