Profile

Started in 2011, Hoyne Brewing Company is the lifelong dream of Brewmaster Sean Hoyne. Many hard years of work made it possible for Sean to open his own brewing facility and bring his own vision of high-quality lagers and ales to the people of B.C. And now it’s traveling beyond the coast. It started as home brewing, but thanks to a mentorship with local legend Frank Appleton, and the work they did together to build the fledgling brewpub Frank had begun, set Sean on his path for good. Now Hoyne Brewing puts out nearly two dozen beers - 8 core beers and a regular cast of seasonals and limited releases that show up around the calendar. And this beer you’re going to drink is one of those specials, made to help bring us back to the days of hanging out together on the patio, listening to great music, and celebrating together over cold beer. The Fiesta Ale is a Blonde Ale made in the style of a session, so you can pour a few down the hatch without feeling like you’ve suddenly decided to take a nap. Serves well at 8°C and can cellar, but why wait?

Look

Pours a light golden colour with a hazy body and light carbonation. A thin head of spotty, sticky lacing pours from the can.

Smell

It’s a big ole’ bushel of tropical fruit aromas mashed together - you can pick out some pineapple and mango, but overall its mostly sweet and floral.

Taste

All the best parts of a blonde ale flavour with some bigger fruity character to liven it up. The fruit becomes a lot clearer on the palate, displaying lychee, clementines, and a touch of the passionfruit. The dry hopping gives the herbal, leafy quality some legs, opening up into more perfume as it warms. Over all this is a beer you can easily quaff and just a hint of a kick.

Pairing

Pair this brew up with some pub favourites - nachos with ground beef or get into potstickers. Nibble your way to victory!
