Introduction

In 2015, Andrew Kelley and Kai Leszkowicz realized they really liked craft beer, and they really weren't all that big a fan of their day jobs. It was time to throw caution and fiscal sanity to the wind, and open up a craft brewery. Aslin was founded on a love of beer and a pursuit of deep brewing knowledge. So many possibilities exist in the brewing world and so many beers are available through the simplest of changes to a recipe or brewing technique. The duo are big fans of experimenting to find new and exciting beers, but also rely on an intense dedication to quality brewing practices. Their goal is a redefinition of the American beer culture, oriented to great taste and dedicated techniques - the result will be delicious beers with deep pedigree and even deeper flavour profiles.

How it looks

Pours a murky colour that looks like fresh pressed apricot juice, and with light carbonation. A thin cap of small bubble white foam rests on top.

How it smells

Big tropical fruit coming out of this beer, leaning hard on pineapple and passion fruit notes. The hops also have a green, grassy aroma hiding behind the gang of fruits.

How it tastes

The tropical fruit comes off as muddled on the palate, but the lingering taste of banana and pineapple come through. The hops are bright and lean into an earthy, herbal style that is tasty and balances out the fruit. The thin body and bright flavours hit and disappear in a flash - this is a speedy taste experience with a slightly dry closure.

Recommended food pairing

Fruity but also bitter, and the fresh green bitterness fades fast. Get something spicy but not melt your teeth spicy - this beer is fast on the palate.
