Fruit-Infused Blonde Ale
Origin: Big Lake, MN
Style: Fruit-Infused Blonde Ale
We recommend heading into the taproom on Humboldt drive in Big Lake, Minnesota and throwing a high-five to Jeff or Matt before you hunker down on a stool for one of Lupulin Brewing’s craft creations. They’re just a couple of good dudes who decided to start brewing, and rather than hiring someone to hold their hand, they banged their head against the wall until good beer flowed out. Each recipe is their own creation and while the operation is bigger and better, it holds onto the vibe used to start the company in a garage long ago. Lupulin has tons of beers on the slate for you to try and take home in your very own growler. Slip into the Fun Pants with this fruit infused blonde ale with tons of tropical delights and a touch of hops. Serves well at 8°C and can cellar up to six months.
Pours a lightly toasted straw colour with a hazy body and light carbonation. Only a thin ring of bubbles around the top after the pour represents the head.
A karate chop of fruit directly to your neck - lemon, mango, grapefruit, and table grapes. There’s a bit of malt somewhere behind the fruit crowd, smelling of biscuits or crackers.
Well... we can’t lie to you, there’s a lot of fruit. But while it comes out of the gate with a lot of different, slightly sweet fruit flavour, there’s some malt and grainy flavour that comes in quickly to give it some balance and remind you that you aren’t drinking kool-aid. It has a dry, snappy mouthfeel and lighter body, and the whole taste hits like lightning. A refreshing patio beer that’s a nice change from IPAs and lagers.
Given the fruitiness of this beer, you’ll want to pair up with something that competes. Make a three cheese Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Get crazy!
