Introduction

The Canadian Rockies are a place of unparalleled beauty and wildlife, but they’re also a place of unique character. This infuses the people of the Rockies with similar character and Folding Mountain Brewing has developed their beers with that character. Strong and unique. Jason Griffiths and Aric Johnson have made a name for themselves with nearly 40 beers that have graced their taps. Crossing all styles and all palates - their only worry is whether you’ll have time to sit back and sip a pint while gazing across the mountains. The beer so perfectly in tune with their goals and image, they just called it by their own name. Folding Mountain Lager is crisp, clean, and ready for a few of them to pour down your neck. Easy drinking and refreshing - perfect. Serves well at 8°C and can cellar for up to a year.

How it looks

Pours a pale amber colour with mostly clear body and light carbonation. A bubbly ring of white foam around the rim is all you’ll get but it does stick around for the show.

How it smells

A slightly funky grain malt aroma, touched by a bit of sweet caramel, corn mash, and a hop edge that will remind you of pine trees in the fall.

How it tastes

A bit of a battle on the palate, between a slightly sweet malt flavour, and the more bitter, green qualities of the hops. Not a hoppy beer though, mostly an acidic quality that fades off to a more leafy bitterness and a smooth finish. This is a classic taste but with some distinctive qualities once you let it rest on the palate.

Recommended food pairing

A classic lager, so this will pair with almost anything that touches a grill. Try it with double-cut pork chops and roasted greens.
