Since 2005 the small-batch brewery in Northern Idaho has been experimenting with flavours and styles all in the pursuit of brewing with mirth. The Huckleberry is a fruit and field style beer — a melange style which focuses on infusing fruit, herbs and vegetable character to achieve a harmony that’s refreshing to the senses. How it looks

​Pours a hazy amber colour with little to no head or lacing and subtle carbonation.

How it smells

A sweet and pungent huckleberry and other fruit scent shoots off the head of this beer, a touch of floral hop with leafy green bitter tones and the barest touch of the malt in the scent’s foundation.

How it tastes

The opening salvo of this beer is a combination of sweet fruit and floral hops that have a slightly bitter pine edge to them. This taste quickly evolves into a malty toasted biscuit flavour, all the while holding the sugary cream soda character of vanilla and citrus. The flavour experience is quite short-lived, cutting off with a dryer finish and leaving only a hint of the cream as after taste. Smooth mouthfeel and refreshingly perky.

With such a sweet and fruity beer you should pair it up with mouth-watering grilled meat — knock out a beer-can roasted chicken or pork loin on the barbecue.
