Introduction

The Bruery has joined Collective Brewing Project from Fort Worth, Texas to make a Grisette like no other! Combining their love of coolships, foeders and barrels, they made a liquid tribute to a traditional Belgian beer! Just like Saisons were the seasonal beers brewed for farmers, Grisettes were made for the miners. Both styles are designed to be refreshing on the palate, but not strong enough that you couldn't head back to the mines after a pint. Collective Brewing Project brought the malt with them to California for this collaboration. They found all natural Texas-grown pilsner malt sourced from Texmalt to give the beer a unique Texas twist. Once fermented, they aged it in oak foeders with California orange blossoms and calendula flowers for 4-6 months. Now that it's bottled, it's yours to savour! Chill to 7 C, relax and enjoy!

How it looks

Minor Miner pours out golden yellow, with a finger of small off-white fluffy head that takes a minute to settle into a ring.

How it smells

Citrus and floral, with an earthy base and a touch of funk. Combining the light fruity smells of kumquat, orange blossom, tangerine sherbet and orange peels with a light spice, earthy root and light toast.

How it tastes

The taste is crisp and dry, with a tart zinginess on the tongue. Sweet like sherbet, with a citrus splash - we find lemon and grapefruit help this beer come across bright and spritzy! With such a pale malt build, the minerals from the hard water traditionally used in the Grisette style come across at the end of a sip and balance the light acidity. Overall, it ends on a clean and drying finish, erasing the tongue tingle from the medium carbonation and moderate body.

Recommended food pairing

Pair this Grisette with an herb and bread stuffed chicken with pan gravy for an exciting combination! The carbonation will help to cut through the thick gravy, and the light spice in the beer will bring out the herbs in the chicken!
