It’s time to lay a quarter on the deck for the next play through with a cold pint of Invader Wheat on the counter next to it. Nestled in the Burn Block along the main drag of Inglewood is Revival Brewcade – an exciting addition to the Calgary craft beer arena. Smaller than micro – a pixel size one might say – this “nano” brewery rotates a handful of craft delights across its menu. Not only is Revival serving tasty beers – you can also enjoy a host of classic arcade cabinets and pinball machines.
A duo of eastern Canadian lads, James and Jamie, cracked the doors on the brewcade in 2017 to simultaneously provide a good pint in the hand and a good time. Enthusiasts of the silver ball can enjoy half a dozen machines with freshly serviced bumpers and the more modern gamer can take on 8-bit glory to emblazon their legacy in three initials.
Their menu is rotating weekly, but has included:
- Multiplayer Pale Ale: a dry IPA with caramel tone
- Hopped Invader Wheat: an American wheat style with citrus character
- Pinhead Porter: the taste of roasted coffee and chocolate
- Dark Side of the Mild: an English Dark with warmth
Revival has also recently launched their first run of a small batch, in-house creation: Revival Hazy Pale Ale. This brew hits you with fresh notes of citrus and tropical fruits, with a smooth malty finish. In addition to great beers, if you’re getting hungry Revival also runs snacks and hand-food to keep the button mashing hand steady every day of the week. It’s no wonder this innovative taproom has been a fave on the Alberta craft beer scene. Hit up them up and drop us a line on Instagram with your high score… if you’ve got the chops.
