This beer is exclusive to CCC members until it’s wider release in April and has only been seen in Rogue pubs on tap and at rare beer tastings to date. We are pulling out all the stops for you! To us, this sounded like a killer brunch cocktail when we first heard of it’s impending arrival. While this is by no means the first cold-press collaboration beer, the combination of IPA and coffee is what makes it more unique (yes, there have been others but it’s not a common combination). Cold Brew IPA is a hoppy IPA blended with 200 gallons of Stumpton Coffee Roasters’ famous Cold Brew Coffee in every batch. This beer is the result of a collision of local Oregon legends. These two neighbours are kindred crafting spirits and joined forces to create a very uniquely Northwest flavour combining Oregonians favourite beer style (IPA) with the most popular up-and-coming style of coffee (cold brew). This beer will surely awaken your sense.
A slightly hazy amber-bronze colour with a medium off-white head that dissipates quickly.
The nose represents strong coffee with hints of caramel, vanilla, lime and hops.
As far as the taste goes, this beer is bitter and dry upfront with coffee strongly leading the way. Mid-palate, it turns herbal with hops and a touch of citrus coming forward along with a slight mint touch. The finish is clean with a lingering bitterness that combines the best of roasted coffee and hops. A very different IPA with remarkably well-balanced and complementary flavours. A unique beer that works so much better than we expected: with each sip, we enjoyed it more and more.
Blue cheese, braised pork belly, dark chocolate-dipped strawberries.
